Language & Literature, Individuals & Societies (Secondary)

Gill Addison joined Liberty Woodland School in September 2024.

She grew up in Scotland, completing her English Language and Literature MA degree at Aberdeen University before studying for her PGCE qualification at Strathclyde University. She taught TESOL in Izmir, Turkey before starting her career as a secondary school teacher in Shropshire.

Gill has taught English Literature and English Language, Religious Studies and Drama and Theatre studies to A Level in various independent schools across the country and, for the last 19 years, in London. Her interest in meditation and mindfulness led to her training with the .b Mindfulness in Schools Project and teaching mindfulness at a girls’ school in West London. Her belief that the education system meets the needs of only the minority accounts for her excitement at the ambitions of Liberty Woodland School to offer something wholly new and designed to cultivate a lifelong love of learning in its students.
