At LWS, our educators quickly form positive relationships with all of our students. These relationships are a key principle underpinning our approach to evaluation and assessment.

Through every lesson, learning opportunity and interaction, our expert practitioners harvest a wealth of knowledge which informs them about where each student is on their learning journey. They offer insightful advice and instruction on what each student can do to improve and progress their work, and maintain relevant, individually tailored support to enable them to achieve their goals.

Secondary School assessment

In the Secondary school, our students embark on the Middle Years Programme (MYP) of the International Baccalaureate (IB). The globally renowned programme continues the student-centred approach of valuing every interaction and lesson outcome and provides clear structure and rigour to ensure our young people are truly prepared for their future.

Our experienced teaching team and school leaders meet regularly to review outcomes, making refined use of the assessment criteria and support materials & training the IB provides to carefully structure learning opportunities that enable every student to achieve their very best.

Across the school, we value close communication and positive relationships with the parents and families of our students. We support them in understanding their child's strengths and areas for development and how we can all work together to ensure the best progress possible.

Through the regular collection of assessment data, leaders have developed a system to monitor the attainment and progress of individual pupils and groups. Teachers use this information to plan appropriate interventions to support relative gaps in pupils' learning.
